About Us

Welcome! We are a warm, vibrant and caring community where everyone is welcome.

Our parish mission is "....to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ."

Our congregation includes people of all ages from Pleasantville, Hawthorne, Thornwood and Valhalla, as well as other neighboring communities.  The membership is composed of lifelong Episcopalians, converts from other faiths, mixed-faith families and converts and seekers.  We are very involved in outreach, both locally and abroad.

We celebrate the Holy Eucharist at three Sunday services:

8 a.m.        Rite I
This is a small, casual service with no music or singing

9:30 a.m.    Rite III
This is a unique, lively service of music and worship designed for families
  with young children

10:30 a.m.  Rite II
This is the traditional service with choir and organ music

Although we normally have three different services, our members also come together for several combined services throughout the year.  We also share and enjoy many parish-wide activities.

St. John's is committed to:

-  Nurturing the Christian faith for both children and adults
-  Supporting outreach activities that encompass the many diverse needs of people              beyond our parish and local community
-  Providing pastoral support of our membership and visitors
-  Providing opportunities for diverse worship experiences
-  Team ministry

If you are in the neighborhood, please come in and worship with us!
